Job Title: Class 2 Driver – Concrete Mixer Trainee (Temp to Perm)
Location: Corby
Pay Rate: £15.50 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:50 starts
Contract: Temporary to Permanent

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Class 2 Driver to join our team in Corby on a temp-to-perm basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tipper driver who is looking to take the next step in their career.

Successful candidates will immediately begin training as a Concrete Mixer Driver – you will not be working as a tipper driver in this role. Full training is provided from day one.

We are specifically seeking drivers with tipper experience due to the highly transferable skills involved, including working in construction environments, operating on uneven/off-road sites, and understanding site safety procedures.

This role involves delivering ready-mix concrete to construction and off-road locations, so you must be comfortable working in a hands-on, “mucky” environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a Class 2 concrete mixer vehicle safely and efficiently

• Delivering ready-mix concrete to construction and off-road sites

• Managing safe discharge of concrete on-site

• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and ensuring compliance with regulations

• Maintaining high safety standards at all times

• Providing professional customer service to site teams

Requirements

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence

• Ideally 2 years’ experience driving a Class 2 vehicle

• Current or recent tipper driver experience (preferred due to transferable skills)

• Aged 25 or over (for insurance purposes)

• No more than 6 penalty points

• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card

• Comfortable working in dirty/off-road site environments

• Strong work ethic and desire for long-term employment
