Yard Operative – Start ASAP

We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative for a company based in Milton Keynes. This is a straight permanent position starting ASAP, offering a stable role with overtime opportunities and progression within the business.

The role will involve working on projects for Event Chair Stands, assisting with the preparation, movement and organisation of equipment used for large events.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role, so applicants must be comfortable working in a yard environment in all weather conditions.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday

• 7:30am – 4:00pm

• 40 hours per week

Pay & Overtime

• Salary: £28,000 per year

• Overtime after 8 hours: 1.5x pay

• Saturdays: 1.5x pay

• Bank Holidays: 2.0x pay

Due to the nature of the business, overtime will be expected during the summer months, which is the busiest period for event projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Working on Event Chair Stand projects

• General yard operative duties

• Loading and unloading vehicles

• Moving equipment and materials using a forklift

• Organising stock and materials within the yard

• Keeping the yard clean, safe and organised

• Supporting the team with day-to-day yard operations

Requirements

• Forklift experience required

• In-house or expired licences accepted

• The company will provide a forklift refresher course if required

• Comfortable working outdoors

• Reliable and hardworking

• Ability to work in a busy team environment
