Maintenance Technician
Location: Milton Keynes
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £33,000 – £35,000
Hours: Monday–Thursday 07:00–16:00 | Friday 07:00–13:00

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join a busy and well-established operation based in Milton Keynes. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, offering long-term stability and career development for the right candidate.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with a strong mechanical mindset who takes pride in maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-organised working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a range of machinery and workshop tools to minimise downtime
Diagnose faults and perform reactive maintenance and repairs when required
Maintain and improve the general condition of the shop floor, including repairing work benches, lighting, railings, and other fixtures
Assist with general site upkeep and hygiene duties to ensure a clean and safe working environment
Support basic toolmaking tasks, including assembling simple wooden and metal tools
Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure operational efficiency and safety standards are met

Requirements:

3–5 years’ experience in a mechanical, maintenance, or similar hands-on engineering role
Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Strong attention to detail and commitment to health & safety standards
Flexible, reliable, and proactive attitude

Desirable (but not essential):

Previous experience using AutoCAD
- Full training will be provided; however, candidates with prior knowledge will have a distinct advantage
