Transport Administrator
Transport administrator required for a for a well-established company in the Church Gresley area of Swadlincote on a temp to perm basis. This particular company are well known within the midlands and have sucessfully operated within the area for many years and provide a wide range of goods and services to industrial and manufacturing markets throughout the UK inlcuding pallets, timber packaging, agricultural boxes, industrial supplies, tools, workwear, PPE, safety equipment, premium apparel & professional protective clothing manufacture and property services.
The role
As Transport Administrator, you will provide full administrative support to the Logistics Manager in this fast paced pallet distribution environment. As a key point of contact for external and internal customers and drivers, you will have a professional manner and excellent communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Engage all external and internal customers / drivers by communicating in a friendly and professional manner ensuring that a good impression is always maintained
- Answering and responding to all incoming calls in a prompt and polite manner
- Ensure all internal/external customer/drivers queries or concerns are dealt with in a professional, friendly and courteous manner
- Liaising with the management team ensuring the smooth operation of the transport department
- Ensure all inbound/outbound paperwork is completed promptly and accurately
- Keep excel worksheets up to date with pallets coming in and going out
- Monitor and chase documentation in support of the transport operation
- Undertake administrative and filing duties to meet needs of the Transport Department
- Dealing with customer orders ensuring quality accuracy, delivery timelines, instruction, and communication to all depot staff
- Maintain and expand an excellent proactive relationship with existing customers and suppliers
Hours
You will be required to work between the hours of 0800am and 1700pm, Monday to Friday with a 1 hour unpaid break.
Requirements for the role
- Transport/planning administration experience
- A friendly and approachable manner
- Computer literate
- Ability to work independantly and efficiently
- Working curteously and conscientious with all internal and external customers
