Regional Engineer
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 + benefits
Hours: 8am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday (OT Available)
Location: Derby (Regional Travel Expected)
Reporting to: Regional Operations Manager / Senior Regional Engineer

My client is a specialist provider of sub-contract pump solutions, and due to continued growth across multiple regions, are looking for a Regional Engineer to join their operations team.
About the Role
As a Regional Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the equipment are installed, serviced, and maintained to the highest standard. You’ll be hands-on, customer-facing, and trusted to deliver high-quality engineering support both on site and at the depot.
Your work will include:
Assessing pump suitability for customer requirements
Installing engineered pump systems on-site
Responding to service and breakdown calls (including occasional out-of-hours work)
Providing technical support to customers and colleagues
Carrying out repairs and maintenance on diesel-driven pumps
Working with maintenance software to plan and log activities
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
You’ll be part of a strong regional team, reporting into the Senior Regional Engineer and working closely with the Regional Operations Manager.
Qualifications & Skills
We’re looking for someone who has:
An HNC or City & Guilds qualification in an engineering or mechanical discipline (preferred)
Experience working with mechanical, diesel or heavy equipment
Additional electrical knowledge (advantageous)
A full driving licence (towing ability beneficial)
Good physical fitness and understanding of manual handling
Experience in the machinery hire industry (desirable)

Strong background in mechanical engineering, servicing, or repair
Confidence working on diesel-driven pumps or similar equipment
Ability to plan, coordinate and execute work efficiently
Experience reading drawings, technical specs, and carrying out risk assessments
Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team

What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-Day
Your responsibilities will include:
Prioritising mechanical engineering work to provide excellent service to customers
Installing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-driven pump systems
Providing technical reports and feedback to the engineering team
Ensuring your vehicle and equipment are maintained to company standards
Ordering spare parts and managing stock requirements
Supporting depot audits and stock takes
Assisting engineers and customers with technical information and troubleshooting
